WE ARE MOTION FAMILY, a tight-knit artistic collective formed in 2005 by David KA, Diwang Valdez and Sebastian Urrea. With backgrounds in design, photography, and video production, our mission was to change the game with fresh, unprecedented content that represented who we were, where we came from, and where we knew media was headed. It was our music video work that first gained us worldwide acclaim, with a client list including Mike Will Made It, Rae Sremmurd, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Jeezy, and Lil’ Wayne. Not only were the visuals arresting, but the way we made them proved to be equally disruptive. By identifying emerging trends and unsung potential in the marketplace, we were able to outmaneuver all the old media obstacles by paving our own lane. Simply put: We worked harder, faster, and smarter. And we still do.
Our music video catalog continues to grow, with up-and-coming acts like Lil Yachty, Ayo & Teo, and Tee Grizzly, as well as established legends like 2 Chainz, whose “Watch Out” visual was nominated for Best Hip Hop Video at the 2016 VMAs. We recently filmed a documentary about Zaytoven for Red Bull’s “The Note” series, which earned 3.2 million plays and 13K shares in its first two weeks.
In addition to our music inspired work, we’ve also been responsible for a number of successful ad campaigns. We’ve worked with new media influencers to create commercial spots for Checkers. We’ve collaborated with amazingly talented artists and athletes to create branded content for Reebok, Adidas, New Balance, Puma, and Under Armour. We connected Casio G-Shock to a brand new generation of urban skateboarders. We helped usher in the BET Hip Hop Awards with exciting television and viral content that celebrated the culture. We directed for Fresh Empire, a multi-platform national campaign by the FDA that goes deep into the complex and challenging world of today’s youth with positive messaging about living tobacco-free.
